In August 1978, Johan Malan was appointed professor of Anthropology at the University of the North (presently the University of Limpopo) near Polokwane in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, and in January 2006 he retired. He and his wife, Wilma, now live in Mossel Bay in the Southern Cape. They have two married sons.
As the son of a missionary, the late Rev. J.S. Malan, Johan was taught by his parents to respect the Bible in its original languages as the inerrant and literally inspired Word of God. This resulted, among others, in Johan accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour, while also interpreting the large body of biblical prophecies related to the second coming of Christ, as well as the end-time emergence of a satanically-inspired new world order, as literal truth.
During the course of his life, the author became intensely aware of the highly polarised reality in which we live, being influenced from spiritual spheres by the kingdom of God as well as the opposing kingdom of Satan. Johan soon realised the vital importance of gaining knowledge of both these kingdoms, as that will help us to not only understand the diverse influences upon all human beings, but to learn from the Bible how to be transformed spiritually so as to deal with the incessant phenomenon of evil.
In this book, the focus is on the nature of evil influencing of humanity, as well as the basic principles of spiritual warfare in which we have to engage if we earnestly want to prevail in the battle against evil.
